Rest is for everyone, no matter how old you are or what you do. Whether you’re working hard, studying, taking care of kids, or enjoying retirement, resting is crucial for staying healthy in body and mind.

Not all rest is beneficial; while good rest leaves us feeling refreshed and ready to go, low-quality rest can leave us feeling tired and worn out. Things like distractions, interruptions, or poor sleep can diminish the effectiveness of our rest.

We’ve all been in situations where, even when we try to rest, we can still feel restless. The primary reasons are stress, worry, and spending too much time on screens. They can all make it hard to relax properly. Not to mention the sleepless nights when we toss and turn and count sheep but still can’t fall asleep. When this continues for a few nights, we feel exhausted by the end of the week. It is because lack of sleep is cumulative.

Experts say we should avoid napping during the day so it won’t mess up our nighttime sleep. If we want better sleep, we should stick to a regular sleep schedule. Also, creating a relaxing bedtime routine and only using our bed for sleeping can help improve our sleep quality.
