I’ve been wondering about the water cycle lately, so I asked my elementary teacher to explain it to me. The water cycle is a fascinating process that shows how water moves and changes forms on Earth.
She told me that it all starts with evaporation, where water from oceans, lakes, and rivers turns into water vapor due to the sun’s heat. This vapor rises into the atmosphere and cools down, forming clouds through condensation.
Then comes precipitation, where the clouds release water back to the ground in the form of rain, snow, sleet, or hail. The water on the ground can either become groundwater, seeping into the soil, or flow into rivers and streams, eventually making its way back to the oceans.
It amazed me to see how water continuously moves and transforms, providing life to plants, animals, and humans. It’s incredible to think that the same water we use today has been part of this cycle for millions of years.
