Parents Discussing Children’s Screen Time

Laura: I’m starting to worry about how much time the kids spend on their tablets after school.
James: Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. It’s easy for an hour to turn into three without anyone realising.
Laura: Exactly. I don’t want to ban screens completely, but I think we need some limits.
James: I agree. We tried setting a daily time limit—one hour on school days, two on weekends.
Laura: Does it actually work?
James: Most of the time. We also ask them to finish homework and chores before any screen time.
Laura: That makes sense. I’ve been thinking about encouraging more offline activities, like reading or playing outside.
James: Same here. If we give them options, they’re less likely to complain.
Laura: True. And maybe no screens during meals?
James: Definitely. Dinner should be family time, not phone time.
Laura: Alright, let’s try setting some clear rules and see how it goes.
James: Sounds good. Consistency is probably the key.
